POEM VIDEO CAMPAIGN · MOTION DESIGN
THE CHALLENGE – SAYING MORE THAN THE NUMBERS
Migrant Help wanted to mark Refugee Week differently. Rather than leading with statistics, they’d invited clients and colleagues to write about what courage meant to them, and those poems needed a visual language that could carry the weight of the words without overwhelming them.
The complication was format. On-screen text has a short shelf life, and some of these poems ran well past a minute. Every video had to hold attention for the full read – and do it seven times over without the series feeling repetitive. All while sitting cleanly inside Migrant Help’s established brand.
THE PROCESS – SEVEN VOICES, SEVEN FILMS, ONE VISUAL THREAD
The creative direction came from the poems themselves. Each one had its own rhythm and tone, so each video got its own typographic treatment – handwritten-style lettering that felt personal to the voice behind it – alongside bespoke illustration. The animation was paced to match the voiceover Migrant Help provided, so text arrived on screen the way the words were meant to land: deliberately, not all at once.
The challenge of repetition was solved by variety within constraint. Same brand, same format, same structure – but different enough in detail that each poem felt like its own piece rather than a copy of the last. The turnaround was fast, with the whole series moving from concept to delivery in a matter of days.
THE RESULT – A CAMPAIGN THAT LED WITH PEOPLE, NOT DATA
Migrant Help now has a Refugee Week 2026 campaign built entirely around human voices rather than research findings. Seven films, each distinct, each unmistakably on-brand, and each doing something statistics alone can’t – making the audience feel something before they’re asked to think about it.
